Our Residential Solar Solutions

Every home is different. EJP sizes and configures each system around your monthly consumption, roof type, and whether you want battery backup or grid export credits.

On-Grid Solar System

Most common for homes with a stable grid connection. Solar powers your home first; surplus units export to the grid under net metering. No batteries, lowest cost per kWp.

Off - Grid Solar System

For homes with frequent outages or no reliable grid. A battery bank stores daytime generation for night use and during cuts.

What affects your installation cost

System Type (On-Grid, Off-Grid, or Hybrid)

On-grid is the lowest cost option; hybrid systems with battery storage add to the upfront cost but provide outage protection.

Total Panel Capacity (kW size)

Sized to your monthly consumption. A home using 720-1200 units per month typically needs a 3-5 kWp system.

Quality and Brand of Components

Tier-1 panels and inverters cost more upfront but perform better and last longer than unbranded alternatives.

Installation Complexity and Structure Type

RCC terraces are straightforward; sloped tile roofs, shadow-affected sites, or ground-mounted setups require additional civil work.

Government Subsidy and Incentives

PM Surya Ghar provides a central subsidy of 30% for systems up to 2 kWp and 18% for capacity between 2-3 kWp. EJP handles the application.

Battery Storage Capacity (if applicable)

Adding battery backup increases upfront cost but eliminates outage dependency for critical home loads.

Net Metering and Grid Connection Fees

TANGEDCO charges a one-time net metering connection fee; EJP manages the application and coordinates the inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to install solar panels in Tamil Nadu?

Cost depends on system size, component brand, roof type, and whether you add battery backup. PM Surya Ghar subsidy reduces the net cost significantly. EJP provides a free itemized quote after a site survey.

1 kWp needs roughly 80-100 sq.ft of shadow-free roof space. A 3 kWp system needs 250-300 sq.ft; a 5 kWp system needs 400-500 sq.ft. EJP confirms exact requirements based on your actual roof layout and shadow assessment.

A standard on-grid system does not supply power during a grid outage or after dark, for safety reasons. A hybrid system with battery storage does both: it keeps your home powered through cuts and stores excess solar energy for use after sunset.

The PM Surya Ghar scheme provides a central subsidy directly credited to your bank account after installation and MNRE registration. EJP handles all documentation, registration, and follow-up with TANGEDCO and MNRE on your behalf

An on-grid system connects to the TANGEDCO grid, exports surplus power under net metering, and shuts down during outages. A hybrid system adds a battery bank, so your home has power even when the grid is down. On-grid costs less and has a faster payback; hybrid costs more upfront but gives full energy independence for critical loads.
